MY APPROACH
The reason I shoot weddings is simple; I love good people and I love being around them on one of their best, and most beautiful days.
I love capturing connections, stories and emotions - getting to witness real, honest love and curating stories with my camera is the best job in the world.
My style can be described as editorial, timeless, romantic and natural. I'm here to capture the big moments, the small moments and the in-between. Once I get to know you and your partner a little better, this opens the door for me to capture you in a real, honest and intimate way. I'm not about long shot lists or overly posed photos. I want to capture you just as you are, on one of the most beautiful and happy days of your lives.
I am a relaxed, warm and friendly person in nature, so I always bring this with me in my approach to each wedding. Whenever my camera is in my hand, I am constantly observing the way light falls and allowing moments to play out in front of me, photographing stories in a journalistic way. It’s a balance between being unobtrusive, while also providing gentle guidance to ease you into frames that are real, intimate and effortless.
I shoot digital and 35mm film, and offer this as an add on to all of my couples. Rediscovering film has made me fall in love with photography all over again. I love the simplicity and candid nature of film photography. I particularly love the placement of these truly honest shots, side-by-side with polished digital photography. It allows for a gallery full of timeless images, with a hint of nostalgia dotted throughout.

How do we lock in a booking?
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your wedding date. Just email me which package you would like to book and I will send you the booking information and my wedding agreement. Once that’s signed and the deposit is paid I’m all yours. I work on a first come, first serve basis, and unfortunately I can’t hold dates until the booking is confirmed.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I’ve been documenting beautiful weddings for close to 10 years! It’s such a fulfilling career.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. I love to travel for weddings! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph love all along the East Coast of Australia and even internationally. There is an adjustment to costs to help me get where I need to be. Tell me your plans and let’s chat.
Will we meet before the day?
Yes, absolutely. I chat with all of our clients over coffee or FaceTime – I want you to be sure you’ll feel comfortable with me on your day.
How many photos will we receive?
This depends on how many hours of coverage I am shooting, but you can generally expect to receive around 80-100 photos for every hour.
Can I have the unedited photographs?
No, sorry. The editing process is as much a part of my service as the photography itself.
Do we need to provide a “shot list” to you?
No, thank you. I photograph in a photojournalistic style, capturing the day how it naturally unfolds. A shot list takes the spontaneity out of the day, and won’t allow me to be creative. I would love it if you can provide a family portrait list though!
Do you offer albums?
Yes! Absolutely. I studied Graphic Design at University, alongside photography and I love designing wedding albums. They are such a beautiful keepsake from your day, to be passed down through generations. They are by far the best way to keep and display your wedding photos.
We don’t like posing - will that be a problem?
No, not at all! I am all about capturing candid moments. Some of the most beautiful photographs happen when the bride & groom are just being themselves.
What happens if we need to reschedule our date?
Rescheduling can be stressful for everyone, but I am here to help you and make the process as simple as possible. We can work together to find a new date when I am available. I have a section in my wedding agreement that covers rescheduling and postponements so everything is clear.

We knew we needed Khara to photograph our day not just because of how incredibly talented she is or how beautiful every one of her galleries is, or even because of how much we love her. She also makes us feel special and important and like we have a place in this big old world.
