Phoebe + Dan
I am finally getting around to blogging all of the amazing weddings from May that I was lucky enough to be a part of!
Phoebe & Dan flew up from the Gold Coast to be married on a family property in Cannonvale in North Queensland. Having their wedding on the same day as the Royal Wedding meant that they had to throw a hell of a party - and they absolutely delivered! All eyes were on Phoebe & Dan as they celebrated into the night.
Whenever there is a ‘family property’ involved I instantly get so excited. It’s usually very special to the couple to be married or have photos taken on family land. Whether they grew up on the property or it’s just been in the family generations - it’s special for them. I love it because some of the best hidden spots are located on private property and it’s always fun to shoot in a new, beautiful location!
As it turns out, Phoebe’s brother owns this stunning cane farm just outside of Airlie Beach. After the ceremony, we all bundled into 4wd’s and headed around the property, stopping along the way at various spots that I just couldn’t pass by. But the real winner for me was this still, quiet dam that we came across at the top of a hill. It was a really calm day, so the water was reflecting all of the bushland around it - making it the perfect spot for Phoebe & Dan to share some intimate moment together.
The reception was totally DIY - which I love. The family decked out a huge farm shed, filling it with fairy lights and long tables. Old bathtubs were filled with ice and champagne bottles and huge, beautiful cheese platters were served at sunset.
Thanks for having me Phoebe & Dan! x
