I have been dying to share these shots from a recent styled elopement shoot that I photographed + directed in the beautiful Mackay region a few weeks back. This absolutely would not have been possible without the contribution from an INCREDIBLE group of vendors! It is truly amazing what magic can be made when creatives come together. I wanted this shoot to showcase the amazing local talent that we have in this region, and although I recently relocated to Newcastle, I am so proud of where I'm from, and grateful that I get to travel back here so often for beautiful weddings. I consider the location for this shoot my backyard - it is literally a stones throw from where I grew up and where my family still lives. These beautiful mountains, country roads and fields are my home.
We set up in the middle of a back country-dirt road, laying down a beautiful vintage rug to set the scene. Zoe from Just Perfect Beauty created Shauna's beautiful look. She also joined us on the day to assist in confetti throwing (and picking it up), dragging the rug off the road when a car passed, and generally just being an all round photographer's dream assistant - thank you Zoe!!
The bride's gorgeous, luxurious Peony wrap dress is by none other than local designer Ash White, created with naturally dyed cotton and Indian fabric. The print is produced by steaming roses on the surface of the fabric - how beautiful is that? And how about those sleeves!! Dreamy. The dress paired perfectly with stunning, moody wildflower blooms by Starcut Flowers, who always do such an incredible job.
But what really set this shoot's vibe was the connection between my amazing models (and real life couple) Shauna & Aaron. Thank you for being the perfect couple to photograph!
A huge thank you to all the vendors for being involved in what was an amazing afternoon. It's really something else to see a vision of yours come to life, and I think we all did a pretty dreamy job!
