Kimba + Corey
I first met Kimba when we were put in the same junior netball team (under 12’s I think?). Luckily, we were both the reallllly tall girls out of the bunch, and so naturally we both became shooters. We quickly became an unstoppable team (go Brothers!) - Kimba GS, and me GA - dodging, intercepting and shooting goals like nobody’s business. I vividly remember traveling down to Brissy from Mackay overnight, Kimba and I sat together on the bus, giggling and sharing stories the whole way down. It was one of the funnest netball trips ever, and one of my favourite memories with her.
Fast forward 15 years, and Kimba contacts me to photograph her absolutely amazing wedding day! Kimba and Corey’s day was simple, love-filled and classic. Their ceremony was held in one of the little grassy parks at Kangaroo Point along the Brisbane river, with stunning views of the city. The spot was simply decorated with white chairs for guests and a rose-petal carpet down the aisle - but the real feature was the stunning, moody floral arch by Green & Bloom that framed Kimba and Corey perfectly. They wrote their own vows to each other, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!
Kimba wore a beautiful dress from Brisbane boutique, When Freddie Met Lilly. After the short ceremony, we spent the afternoon having fun walking along the river, photographing out onto the jetty’s with the bridal gang. Before heading into the fairy-light filled reception (held at Riverlife), I spent time taking intimate photographs of the two of them on the rocks at Kangaroo Point, as the lights of the Brisbane city started flickering on, sparkling behind them. It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding to be a part of, mostly because I got to see my beautiful, old friend marry the love of her life. It was a wonderful celebration.
Thank you, Mr & Mrs Lappin!
