Emma + Dean

Emma and Dean were married on Dean's family farm (passed down through 3 generations) in a tiny little Victorian town called Goorambat. Ben and I landed in Melbourne, picked up our hire car and drove 2 and a half hours north into regional Victoria, in awe of the stunning landscape. I've travelled overseas a lot, but I'm only just starting to deeply explore my home country so I was snap-happy on the way out there. We stopped to admire the absolutely stunning fields of flowering Canola..the most vibrant yellow colour I've ever seen, and miles and miles of it. I was already planning the beautiful photos I could take of Emma and Dean if they were up for finding a Canola field..

Goorambat is a tiny, tiny farming town just outside of Benalla. The population is 350 people. Emma & Dean fell in love when Dean spotted Emma at the local (and only) pub. The rest is history. I arrived at the Feldtmann family farm the day before the wedding to have a look around and pick out some locations for our photos. I was absolutely spoilt for choice. This farm had everything, from beautiful dirt roads lined with huge gums, river beds, fields of wild grass and corn...and Canola!! Yes!!

The wedding the following day was absolutely perfect, with the ceremony being held on a flat, grassy area that overlooked beautiful fields. Dean's dad had mown a perfect path through the field for Emma to walk down. We photographed around the farm until the sun sank below the hills. The reception was held in the middle of a group trees a little way down the road. In the middle of this clearing, was a HUGE beautiful tree, adorned with fairy lights and a heart carved into it. Guests sat on comfy lounge chairs by fire pits (it was quite chilly after the sun went down) and ate home cooked pizza. It was beautiful.

Congratulations to Emma & Dean, and thank you both so much for welcoming us with open arms. Everyone made us feel like part of the family and it was so lovely to be there to capture those beautiful moments for you. We arrived as your photographers but left as your friends, and those are my favourite types of weddings.

*Special mention to the wonderful Chelsea, Emma's sister for recommending me and organising everything to do with the photography. You're a superstar! x
